Cyber Safety Pasifika (CSP) is a long standing forum of the Pacific Island Chiefs of Police (PICP), which is managed and delivered by the Australian Federal Police (AFP). CSP was originally established in 2012, and since that time CSP has evolved and grown to incorporate the delivery of key cyber capability development activities in accordance with the strategic intent of the PICP.
Awareness and Education
The delivery of CSP Awareness and Education training and ‘Train the Trainer’ programs equips Pacific police attendees with the knowledge and skills to proactively deliver digital safety presentations to members of their own police services, as well as promote and share cyber safety messages with school groups, parents, teachers and the wider community.
Cybercrime Investigations Training
Delivery of contextualised, modularised and tiered cybercrime investigations training supports Pacific police to develop the knowledge and skills required to successfully respond to and investigate cybercrime and technology enabled crime. Cybercrime investigations training courses equip participants with the methods and techniques to conduct more effective online investigations.
Legislation and Policy Development Support
CSP works collaborative with the Pacific Island Law Officers Network (PILON) through the Australian Attorney General’s Department, and the Pacific Police Policy Network (3PN), to support cyber legislation and policies. In conjunction with delivery partners, CSP supports Pacific police partners to implement cyber legislation, utilise investigative powers, and develop policies for cyber capabilities.
