NCSC NZ
The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) is New Zealand’s lead operational cyber security agency. It is part of New Zealand’s Government Communications Security Bureau.
The NCSC helps New Zealand better understand and stay resilient against cyber security threats.
It supports businesses, organisations and individuals who are affected (or may be affected) by cyber security incidents. It provides trusted and authoritative information and advice, while also collating a profile of the threat landscape in New Zealand.
The NCSC works to enhance cyber security in New Zealand, meaning it works to:
• improve understanding of the threat landscape
• raise cyber security resilience
• reduce the impact of incidents
The NCSC includes the functions of CERT NZ. CERT NZ was established in April 2017 to support individuals and small to medium businesses in New Zealand. In 2023 the New Zealand Government announced it would integrate the functions of CERT NZ into the NCSC. The new integrated agency has a vision for ‘good cyber security everywhere, all the time, by everyone’.
