CERT Tonga is the national computer emergency response team.

We are the point of contact in Tonga for cyber security issues affecting major Tongan businesses. The CERT operates under the Ministry of Meteorology, Energy, Information, Disaster Management, Environment, Communications and Climate Change (MEIDECC).

The CERT Tonga has direct working relationships and a range of bilateral and multilateral agreements with government and business computer emergency response teams around the world. The CERT Tonga works  with international, domestic, public and private parties, acting within their statutory scope, collect information, knowledge and expertise to help improve understanding of developments, threats, and trends and help parties prevent and deal with incidents and make decisions in crisis.

The CERT Tonga provides advice and support on cyber threats and vulnerabilities to the owners and operators of Tongan critical infrastructure and other systems of national interest. A compromise of these systems could result in significant impacts on Tonga’s economic prosperity, social wellbeing.

These businesses and industries underpin essential service delivery across Tonga, including Government Agencies, Financial Institution and Public Enterprises.
